A family whole-house stay in Kenting
6 things to check with children

Travelling with children means more to think about: whether the water is safe to play in, whether everyone sleeps well, how easy the stroller will be, where to sterilize bottles. Check these six things before you book and the trip is easier for everyone.

1. The splash pool: depth, location, who can use it

Both houses have a splash pool 60 cm deep, made for children to play in rather than for swimming. At Dream Come True the balcony is enclosed by a low wall and railing, and at Wish Come True the courtyard has a wooden fence on its outer side. Swim rings are provided; please have an adult stay with young children the whole time.

The difference is where they are: at Dream Come True the pool is on the balcony of the Cartoon Family Room, so children can go straight back to the room to rinse off; at Wish Come True it is in the ground-floor courtyard beside the barbecue, so adults can keep an eye on the children while they grill. Your whole group can use the pool during your stay.

2. Family rooms: beds and floors

The question families of four ask most is whether everyone can share one room. Both houses have a family-themed room for four:

  • Cartoon Family Room (Dream Come True, floor 2) — Standard Double Bed x2; the splash pool is on its balcony
  • Family Cozy Room (Wish Come True, floor 2) — Standard Double Bed x2

3. Kids equipment: no need to bring everything

Both houses have a kids play area, baby tub, bottle sterilizer, high chair. That means less luggage and easier bottle and baby-food prep.

4. Stairs, strollers and grandparents

Neither house has a lift, so you will need a hand with the stroller on the stairs. With a very young baby or older relatives, you may prefer Wish Come True, which has a ground-floor bedroom; please check steps and bathroom access with the concierge first.

5. How children are counted

Under the house rules, infants and young children count toward the total. Tell the concierge how many adults and children are coming, with the children's ages, so rooms and beds can be planned. If you are over a room's standard capacity, extra beds are available — up to 2 per house, NT$300 per person on weekdays and NT$500 on holidays.

6. Days out and evenings in

Spend the day on the sand at Nanwan Beach (~8 min drive), or take a stroll around the Hengchun Old City Walls (~10 min walk); back at the house, the children play in the water and the adults grill — at Wish Come True the pool is right beside the barbecue. KTV hours are 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM, leaving the evening quiet for everyone to rest.
